Free Summer Activities At The Tel Aviv Port

The renovated Tel Aviv Port, one of Tel Aviv’s most attractive and lively entertainment hotspots, will host a variety of special, free summer activities suitable for tourists as well as locals. These include Yoga on the pier, "childhood games" happening, dance shows, welcoming the Sabbath and the Corona FussVolley League.

21 June: 108 Blessings to the Sun at the Port

Tel Aviv Port and the "EllaYoga" space invite you to celebrate the longest day of the year with 108 blessings to the sun. On Tuesday, June 21st at 18:30 at the southern deck area of Tel Aviv Port, an open exercise of "the sun blessing" will take place 108 continuous times.  The rehearsal chain allows the formation of a unique state of mind, where the exerciser becomes the observer. During the exercise, the sense of time disappears, limbs arrange themselves into position and consciousness hovers elsewhere.

30 June: White Night at the Port – Yoga at Sunrise

As part of the finale to the annual White Night celebrations in Tel Aviv, the Tel Aviv Port together with the "EllaYoga" space will host a unique yoga exercise opposite the amazing sunrise on the deck of the port. The yoga exercise will include meditation and poetry and will provide a calming and powerful finish to the "White Night" celebrations. The exercise will be performed in the Kundalini way - a method which combines breathing exercise during the performance of the movements and includes poetry and sound.

Fridays in July and August : Welcoming in the Sabbath ("Kabbalat Shabbat")

Tel Aviv Port, together with an Israeli house of prayer, invites the public to a celebratory and magical welcoming in of the Sabbath opposite the sea, at sunset, with musical accompaniment, prayers, song and dance. Come and celebrate the onset of the Sabbath, Tel Aviv-style. Every Friday, starting at 18:30, on the northern deck, opposite Hangar 14, at Tel Aviv Port.

July and August: Childhood Games at the Port

Tel Aviv Port’s northern deck will play host to classic childhood games, tournaments, activities, toy fairs and street games.  There will also be extra large games available: backgammon boards, chess, checkers, snakes and ladders, twister, hopscotch, jackstraws, dominoes and more. A nostalgic trip back to childhood.

September:  Closing Event Corona FussVolley at the Port

Once again, the summer activities will close with the colorful and exciting finals of the Corona FussVolley on a specially-constructed court in the sand area of the port. FussVolley is a beach sport, born on the beaches of Rio de Janeiro in the 60's when Brazilian football players went out from the neighborhoods to the shores of Rio and practiced the technique of controlling the ball over volley ball nets – and from there foot volley ball. In FussVolley, the rules are the same as those of beach volley ball, with one significant difference – it is forbidden to touch the ball by hand.
