Fairytales In The Sand Eretz Israel Museum

July 20th – August 31st

Tourists visiting the garden at the Tel Aviv Eretz Israel Museum this August will be able to enjoy a special exhibition displaying dozens of sculptures made of sand, crafted by artists from the Sand Academy in Holland.

The artists, here from Holland during Tel Aviv’s 100 year celebration, will amaze visitors with their unique sculpting capabilities. Over the course of two weeks prior to the exhibition, sculptors  constructed wondrous designs from favorite international and Israeli fairytales, such as Snowhite, Cinderella, Hansel and Grettle, Gulliver, The Little Mermaid, Little Red Riding Hood, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, The Tower of Babylon, Noah’s Ark and many more.

The exhibition will be open to the public in the evening hours, lit by specially designed lights. Children are welcome to take advantage of the large sandbox and make their own sculptures with the help of professional sand sculptors.

The Eretz Israel Museum in Tel Aviv is a multi-disciplinary museum focusing on the history and culture of the Land of Israel through an array of extensive permanent exhibitions and temporary exhibits in archaeology, ethnography, folklore, Judaica, cultural history and local identity, traditional crafts and practical arts. The pavilions dot an expansive garden surrounding Tell Qasile, an ancient mound rich in archaeological treasures found in the heart of the museum complex.
