Bat Yam International Street Theater Festival

 

The 15th annual Bat Yam International Street Theater Festival will take place this year August 23-25 along the promenade in Bat Yam. The festival, which features outdoor theater shows and activities, attracts over 150,000 visitors and international performers. Performances range from theater, dance, and music, originating in Israel, the UK, Bulgaria, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Germany, Russia and more.

 

Dozens of outdoor shows will be presented during the three day festival, suitable for the entire family. Select performances include Rope (German), an acrobatic performance on a rope and Cosmos (Spanish) an open-air acrobatic and music performance on a crane. Other performances include Joy (Italian), where clowns take a comical view on basic everyday items and classics such as The Red Balloon, the story of a young boy who befriends a red balloon. 

 

Throughout the month prior to the street festival, starting July 21st, Bat Yam visitors will have the opportunity to view various artwork created and presented by, each week, twenty different artists including Yaakov Sasson, Menashe Kadishman, Prau Bleu and many more. In addition, various workshops and concerts with Israeli artists will take place alongside the art fair, including Einat Saruf (26.7), Boaz Sharabi (27.7), Amir Daddon (28.7), and special Gazoz songs (11.8).
